BCbud is a cross genre audio ninja with the skills to rock sweaty grinding crotches into a frenzy, and an affinity for rolling dancefloors through wide eyed sunrises into an uplifting morning. Having his start dodging beer bottles while playing 60s rock to drunken trade workers, he learned to enjoy things more relaxed. While years of playing ambient and downtempo set the foundation, things naturally picked up a little as more dancefloors opened up to his developing style of laid back rolling grooves with an emphasis on really weird and wiggly tech house. BCbud plays a lot in his hometown of Vancouver, BC but has bounced asses across the globe playing venues in Amsterdam, Montreal, the UK, and all over the US including Hawaii, and the legendary 1015 Folsom in San Francisco. He can currently be found puppeteering full moon parties, seedy clubs, desert domes, slimy warehouses and the occasional hot sweaty livingroom. While there is still a strong tech house influence, BCBud has been found increasingly toying with the fusion of rock, techno and slutty 80s sounds - all while keeping the bump and grind rockin. BCbud can be found most Fridays at Sleizure Radio (Friday nights - 1am onwards on 90.1 CJSF) playing hard experimental sets under the moniker DJ Gaym Ovar. On July 30th, 2007 the Gorfbeat Soundsystem set up for a full moon party, and at 3am I channeled a beast of infinite darkness: The spirit of trance anthem DJ Tiestjokenfold! He came upon the party dismayed that there were no $150 VIP tickets sold, yet after eating some chocolate covered bacon, he blessed us with his set simply described as "The opening soundtrack to the special olympics"... Listen if you dare, but keep your tounge firmly planted in your cheek ;)

Surprisingly, we weren't shut down or arrested by the time I stepped up to play the last set of the night, and this sunrise set was pretty techy and spaced out but kept people wigglin till we shut the generator off...

After an afternoon of illicit horticulture, my evening was progessing slowly, and this mix rolled out to pick me up a bit. Starts off with some really deep funk and sexy house, then moves into a bit of prog, breaks, glitch, but all on the kinda chill tip and sprinkled with a dash of pop.

I've been lucky enough to play at a number of the Burningman Vancouver Organization parties, including this Playa Passion Party at the Fabulous Waldorf . Amazing time, and some smart cookie was thinking ahead and recorded the whole night. I highly recommend you check out the other sets from that night, but you can catch mine from the link below...played early, and started off with a clear dancefloor, which was nicely rockin by the end... picked it up from houseish stuff thru to tribal/tripped out goodies to match the burningman folk.

Heres a partial recording from a radio show I played on in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The girl hosting the show was into 80s, so there's a lot of of 80s influenced electro and trashy stuff, but it was done after a night of heavy partying so it's a little rough around the edges. It was followed up by a set from my buddy Dermatitis who plays a little... harder (only part of his set is here).

Recorded live at a house party in Rossland BC in March 2002 where i was playing from about 12:30 till 2ish. A killer time with a packed house, and loads of insane vixens clawing at the walls (and falling off the speaker towers onto the decks, as you can hear from a pause therein)... Starts off with straight up house (easily accessible and flowed outa the guy before) and drifted off towards tech, trash, weird rolling shit... A little more party rockin beats than some other mixes on here.

West Coast Sessions	2 x 35:00	05-04-01
The first recorded mix I ever got around to dropping for longevity. A combination of mixes both recorded on a grey dreary day. The first was a 35 minute session in the afternoon where I was playing deep tech house (which I was just starting to get into). The second was a 35 minute downtempo/ambient sequel recorded later that same night. Lots of older classic ambient and downtempo favorites that fit the low light tranquility of the evening. Again, old mixes, so don't nitpick :)
